The Canine Caves

The caves where the canines live. Some buddies have dug tunnels to each other's caves, including Gears' to Blaze's.

I flopped down in an abandoned cave, probably the one highest from the ground, one of the closest to Blaze's, and sighed. There was a little matress in a corner, nightstand, etc. I would make new ones later. I unpacked my few belongings, pairs of clothes, toothbrush, toothpaste (Oi, I had hygene, too!) and some bedsheets and my pillow. I put those all togeter in only minutes and sat on my bed, firing small sparks of fire, whisps of wind, pebbles of earth and splashes of water at the celing. I just did that when I was bored.

A few canines in the really high caves leapt past Sparky's cave, going to train. A particularly clumsy one fell as he landed, looked around, saw Sparky, eaved and smiled, and ran to rejoin the others.

I went over and joined them. Hey, I needed to sharpen my skills. Especially my one-on-one.

I layed Sparky on her bed, not rampaging anymore. I drilled a tunnel between my cave and hers, so I could make sure she was ok. I saw signs of life, si I knew, or had high hopes, she would live.

I felt Blaze carry me, althoguh I could see nothing. I sighed and focused on trying to move my lifeless limbs. Using all of my strength, I weakly opened my eyes to see myself at my cave. I growled in low frustration, "Why'm I always the one who gets hurt?" I was bleeding anymore, although there would be a whole lot of cuts on my body for the next few weeks.

"You're not." The arm I didn't use carrying her was in a sling. "Of course, broken arm is a lot better than your condition. How are you feeling?"

"Besides barely able to look up at the ceiling, half of my body covered in blood, and having a coughing fit, I'm alright." I laughed lightly, coughing a bit.

"Something I can do for you?"

"Nah. I'm fine. Just gimme a couple 'ours and I'll be on my feet again."

"Kay." My blue eyes still had hints of red in them. I was still a bit angry, but not for myself. "Wouldn't hurt her. Yeah right." I muttered to myself as I went through the tunnel to my cave.

I jsut sighed, sitting there motionlessly, waiting for something to happen. The numbness receded, but a stinging pain filled my body with pressure and strain.

That was a good and bad sign.

Leaf looked into her cave. "How you feeling?" He said, walking in.

"I'm fine.." I strained, my voice into an almost unauidible mumble, the stinging receding slowly.. very slowly.

"Try this." He gave her a green liquid in a bowl.

I reluctantly took the bowl, spooning it into my mouth. I felt better, the stinging receding, I was able to look at my bloody, cracke dnad stained body, sighing lowly.

"Hoy do you feel now?"

"Better." I sighed, going into a more comfortable position.

"That was healing soup. Old family recipe." He thought a minute. "There's one thing I can't get past me. Why did Blaze try to save you? His motto is usually fight now, heal later. You don't have to answer."

"I'm not sure, although he does have a well-known crush on me.." I sighed, my head resting on the palm of my hand, in a thinking stance.

Leaf's eyes widened. That wasn't the answer he was expecting.

"To tell you the truth, I just think he pitys me.." I shrugged and looked at the ground.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

NRR: No, really. I don't know what that means.

"It means he feels sorry for me." I snorted, looking away.
